A continuation of the 60-year old tradition " Mountain Folk Festival at Levi Jackson State Park".

This is a low budget dance weekend, and the aim is to do a lot of volunteering. Lead a dance or instrument workshop, call a dance or two, help in the kitchen (cook, clean up). We want to make sure all can participate.
Friday
7:30 PM - 10:00 PM: Dancing including American squares, contras, circles, English, and Danish. Callers are Peter Rogers, Howard Carlberg, Frank Jenkins, Tim Lamm, Deborah Thompson, John Sagor. Donations accepted.
10:00 PM: Simging around the camp[fire, behind the folk center. bring a lawn chair.
Saturday
9:30 - 10 AM: Morning singing - join in with others, lead one if you like. Deborah Thompson leading.
10:15-11:15 AM: Session One: Potpourri - Bryce Carlberg, Deborah Thompson and Howard Carlberg.
10:30 A-12:30 P: Session Two: Peter Rogers - Danish, English, American.
12:30 - 1:30 PM: Lunch - on your own, or a $5 sandwich lunch at the Folk Center.
1:30 - 2:30 PM: Session Three: Tim Lamm and Paula Harrison - Round Dance, Waltz, English or Early American.
2:45 - 3:45 PM: Session Four: Frank Jenkins - Square, Contra, Appalachian old time dancing.
4:00 - 5:30 PM: Jam session for old time and contra tunes or cooking supper together.
5:30 - 6:30 PM: Supper at the Folk Center ($10).
6:30 - 7:00 PM: Clean up and set up for evening dance.
7:30 - 8:00 PM: Beginners' contra dance walk-through.
8:00 - 11:00PM: Contra dance with caller Charley Harvey and Berea Castoffs. Admission: $9 for adults, $6 for students and 65y+. Pay at the door.
11:00 PM - AM: Afterparty at 128 North Broadway.

8:00 PM - 11:00 PM: A lively mix of contra, Appalachian, English and Danish dances.
Open band and open mic calling.
Admission: Donations from $3 and up appreciated.
Saturday 9/28

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Dance workshops - English, Danish, Contra, Appalachian
Admission: Free, donations accepted.
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch on your own.
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Dance workshop.
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Singing session, traditional and popular songs, incl. Shape Note.
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Cooking together and eating. Cleaning up. Share cost of ingredients, $4-5.
7:30 PM - 11:00 PM: Contra dance at the folk center. TBA calling to the music of the Berea Castoffs.
Admission: Students $6, and adults $9.
11:00 PM - Early AM: After party at the Carlberg Dance Temple, 128 N. Broadway.
Dance, sing and swing with FCA.
